Aerolase NeoClear® provides an effective solution to address the causative factors for acne of any severity. NeoClear can:

  • Suppress excess sebum production

  • Decrease inflammation

  • Kills the p. acnes bacteria often associated with acne

Aerolase 650 Microsecond Technology™ offers a new approach for highly effective, long-term effects for acne with low recurrence rates. This treatment approach is appropriate for all acne patients of any age, skin type and severity. Aerolase is primary used for acne patients that:

  • Have not responded to traditional acne therapy

  • Cannot take or who do not wish to take traditional oral medications, such as isotretinoin.

This highly powerful, yet gentle, laser light superheats the p. acnes bacteria in the sebaceous gland and surrounding skin to effectively destroy the bacteria, reduce sebum output, and to help reduce swelling and inflammation. Most patients report less irritation and drier skin directly after laser treatments as opposed oral medications. This offers patients immediate relief, which is highly important for patients with severe of cases.

Mechanism of Action for Acne Clearance with 650-Microsecond Laser Technology

The 650 Microsecond Technology™, can treat patients of all ages and skin types (Caucasian, Asian, Indian or African, Hispanic etc.). It reduces the need for acne medications, oral contraceptives, and oral antibiotics. The scientific advances of the 650 Microsecond Technology™ include:

- The high-power, long wavelength 1064nm laser energy penetrates deeper in the skin as compared to other laser/light modalities. This high energy laser is able to effectively reach sebaceous glands located in the dermis of our skin for maximum heating and bacterial destruction. Other light-based devices, including IPL and diode lasers, often do not possess enough deep heating power. These other devices often apply ‘sucking mechanisms’ to the skin in order to bring the targeted sebaceous glands closer to the skin surface, in an attempt to compensate for their limited power. The Neo laser is uniquely able to treat acne without touching the skin at all. Those other systems that contact the skin make the procedure messy and less hygienic as they may spread the p. acnes bacteria from affected to unaffected skin sites.

- The 1064nm laser modality selectively targets water, melanin, and hemoglobin; these are the three main components of the sebaceous gland, including its supporting vasculature and the sebum. In contrast, sub-infrared diode lasers and IPL modalities are not sufficiently absorbed in water and thus are less efficient for acne treatment.

- The deep-penetrating laser energy affects the hair shaft and follicle, eliminating the presence of hairs and reducing the probability that sebum will block pores.

- A 650-microsecond laser pulse duration heats the sebaceous gland faster than the TRT (Thermal Relaxation Time) of skin, minimizing the loss of heat through conduction to the surrounding skin tissue. Other types of lasers, which use 10 to 50-millisecond pulse durations, result in substantial heat loss to the skin, which reduces the temperature and diminishes bacterial destruction. This also makes the treatment much more painful from the heating of nerve endings in the surrounding skin.
